Tulips Baby Cardigan project summary

Tulips Baby Cardigan final

Pattern: Tulips Baby Cardigan, by Lindsay Pekny

Source: Dream in Color designs

Yarn: Dream in Color “Classy” (100% superwash Merino wool), in Cool Fire (110), Wisterious (240), Strange Harvest (130), Spring Tickle (140), Happy Forest (150), Blue Lagoon (160), Some Summer Sky (170), Visual Purple (180)

Size made: 6-9 months (one size on pattern)

Needles used: Size 5 and 7 circular needles (32″ length) and size 5 and 7 double-pointed needles

Project start date: June 28th

Project end date: July 13th

Project cost: $40CAD for kit (purchased from Lettuce Knit in Toronto, Ontario)

Notes: I’m so glad that this cute little sweater was kitted! If I had to purchase all of the yarn in hanks, I probably wouldn’t have done this as a gift. It would have exceeded my budget.

The colors of this hand dyed yarn are gorgeous. They were fun to knit with, especially as you see the variations work into the piece (Happy Forest and Blue Lagoon being the most profound). I was even pleased with the color substitution in my kit. Normally, “Giant Peach” is the color that follows the pink “Cool Fire” at the top. The “Wisterious” purple was included in its place, and I think the transition still looks great.

I highly recommend this project!
