New Year’s Day updates

Happy New Year, all!

It’s been a great last weekend of 2006 here. The Beavers came back from a 14-point deficit to beat Missouri in the Sun Bowl on Friday, and the Chargers secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs yesterday. We had a nice relaxing New Year’s Eve at home last night. DH barbecued some blue cheese burgers, which we enjoyed with a bottle of 2004 Yangarra Estate Vineyard Cadenzia (50% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 10% Mourvèdre). We really enjoyed this wine and plan on getting a couple of extra bottles. Then it was an evening of poker with Kato, interrupted by only the midnight champagne break (a nice Bollinger Brut Special Cuvée NV).

For all of you knitters out there, I’m happy to announce that I completed a project with two hours to spare, as well. Here it is, my last FO for 2006!

Kato’s socks

Yup, I finished Kato’s socks. He gave them a thumbs up, describing them as “gushy.” I’m pretty sure that was a positive description. So, now it’s on to the 2007 knitting!

  1. those sox look gr8! What yarn did you use? the colorway looks pretty nice 🙂

  2. Thanks! I used Schachenmayr Regia 4fädig in color #5574. It was a great colorway for guy because of all of the brown, blue and olive colors. These should go with anything.
